Nic Ecker's background
Nic Ecker was born March 3, 1868 in Keispelt, Grand Duche de Luxembourg, to Jean Ecker (b.June 6, 1839, d.Sept 22, 1897 ) and Margarethe Schmit Ecker (b.Nov 7, 1838, d.May 5, 1925). He emigrated to the United States in 1892 on the Red Star Line from Antwerp, Belgium. On March 25, 1893, he filed a Declaration of Intent to become a citizen in Pawnee County, Nebraska. His citizenship application was approved on September 29, 1899, in Sioux County, Iowa.

Nic Ecker
Nic Ecker came to America from Luxembourg in 1892. He sailed on the Red Star Line. His first job was on the railroad in SE Nebraska. We don't know when he left that job but at some point he went to Iowa where he met Minnie Trapp at Granville. They were married on Nov. 25, 1896 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville.
